"I can't understand how the breakfast ciabatta could be made so poorly. What's with the spicy jam? If I wanted Indian spices, I’d go to an Indian restaurant, not here. These used to be great, but now I wouldn’t even give one to my dog. I didn’t even finish half of the roll, which says a lot. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

The space strikes a balance between comfort and innovation, making it a spot you’ll want to revisit repeatedly. The interior features a charming mix of rustic and modern elements, including exposed brick walls, a central tiled pillar, and a roomy courtyard at the back — ideal for sunny brunches or intimate gatherings. With a retractable roof and outdoor heaters, the café remains comfortable year-round, no matter Melbourne’s unpredictable weather. The menu offers a delightful combination of c...

The service at Pillar Of Salt has noticeably declined since the café changed ownership. I often bring my dog and prefer to sit outside for a coffee. When I go inside to order at the counter for convenience, the staff respond in a very patronizing and almost aggressive way, insisting I sit outside and wait for table service. However, when I do sit outside, no one comes to take my order, likely because they can’t see me. All I want is to order a simple coffee, but the staff seem determined to make it difficult. Very frustrating! Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
