Date night for some Jamaican cuisine! We made reservations for the Mpls location, and they have an awesome patio space. My husband had the jerk pork and I had the jerk chicken, both were delicious, but the pork was more moist. The spice level was enough to make our noses run, but not too spicy that we couldn't enjoy the flavor. Great rice and peas, which are my favorite. We'd definitely go back, the service was fast, I don't think we waited 5 minutes before our entreêsarrived.
We made reservations, but didn't need to. It was unclear which door to go in. We opted for the Rum Bar where they serve you over the fast-casual, order-at-the-counter side. Food and service were great. Music felt deafening for a 6:30pm dinner. DJ was in full swing like one would have at a night club. Great music! But made it hard to chat over dinner.
I would not recommend ordering the curried veggies. The sauce tasted bad and the veggies lacked flavor. However, you can't go wrong with the plantains, as they were tasty. The peas and rice dish was decent. Despite a brief rain shower, the DJ, BakeShowBaker, got the crowd excited and had people dancing and enjoying the music.
Wonderful place and great authentic food! The staff was really good and very attentive. We sat on the patio which was festive and had nice ambiance. We were treated to the best live music around, including the owner stepping in to belt some awesome tunes herself! Highly recommend this restaurant! Loved it! Book a table now
This place’s service has gone down in the last few years. They want you to pay for the food before they even put it on the plate. This place used to be packed but now I guess when the owner made more money he decided not to hire more staff or keep the quality service up.
The food quality is absolutely terrible, it is not fresh and does not live up to what it used to be. I spoke to a fellow Jamaican who has tried other Jamaican jerk chicken dishes and they do not serve authentic jerk chicken. I have been disappointed multiple times.
Disappointing, my beef patty was burnt crisp and the guests on the patio were asked to leave earlier than the time displayed on the patio hours sign.
Went for a girls night and had a blast. Food was good, drinks were great and atmosphere was amazing. Will definitely be back again. Book a table now
