Very disappointing experience today. We had been looking forward to checking Pinnock’s out since we moved to the area, but it was always shut when we tried. Finally went today, and despite no sign on the door saying they are not dog friendly, the girl waited til we were half way through our order to say downstairs is actually a DOG FREE AREA. Strange as there was a dog bowl on the floor by the door!!! She said we had to go upstairs with our dog, we were made to feel very unwelcome so we changed our order to take away. Then we were told to wait outside for it in the snow and cold. I’m pregnant and didn’t hugely appreciate that. Smoothie was nice but the Coffee was terrible couldn’t finish it,...

The restaurant is housed in a beautiful building and offers a great selection of food and a variety of coffees. It is also dog-friendly, which was a major factor in our decision to dine there. The upstairs area is cozy, with options of comfortable sofas or tables and chairs. Unfortunately, the service was lacking in terms of customer interaction. The staff were not friendly and did not make us feel welcome. We felt almost ignored, as there were no usual check-ins to see if we needed anything. When I requested sauce, it was brought to me but with an air of inconvenience. I was relieved that I declined to pay the service charge, which was requested at the beginning without any service provided...

I met up with my sister for a much-needed catch-up at this restaurant. We enjoyed coffees, pancakes, and tea while we chatted for hours. When I arrived, the old building was a bit chilly and draughty, but the warm welcome more than made up for it. What really impressed me was when coffee spilled upstairs and dripped through the floorboards onto my sister's light grey coat. The manager immediately offered to cover the dry cleaning bill, which was a gesture that earned them a 5-star rating from me. When I returned to collect the coat, we indulged in delicious coffee and cake. I am now looking forward to meeting my parents there for another long catch-up with my sister in the next two weeks.

Visited Pinnock’s yesterday for first time and what a delight. Apart from beautiful 15th century beamed building, the coffee was fantastic with choice of 7 blends of coffee from mild to full strength. Wow, a real caffeine hit. Chocolate cake was great too, AND I bought a slice of quiche to take away. So unusual to find quiche WITHOUT onion nowadays. Loved it, and will definitely return very soon. Book a table now

Our first visit. Coffee excellent, scone excellent. The rustic interior and hard wood seats were simply not for us. The two young staff were very efficient but didn’t interact with customers. One of the things to enjoy in a coffee shop is seeing staff with a ready smile, not necessarily talkative, but at least looking happy to see and to serve you. We will not be returning.

A group of us went upstairs for a meal, but there were so many dogs 2 near us were being aggressive to each other. What would be a lovely cafe is ruined by animals around when you are trying to have a relaxing drink and meal. Can't understand why people can't leave their dogs at home for a short while? If upstairs was made a dog free zone, we would return.

Actually headed for Nest but no room so wandered into Pinnock’s and fell in love (I do like cake). Friendly greeting and great atmosphere both downstairs and upstairs where I lounged on cushions and tucked into yummy feta/avocado/tom and pinenuts on sourdough. As good as it gets. My local village isn’t short of cafés but nothing in this league.

Excellent sandwiches at this coffee shop. They are absolutely delicious. The coffee and cake options are also very good. Thank you for a great experience. I will definitely be back.
