My husband and I had dinner reservations without knowing it was the Rugby Match between Wales and Italy. The menu was either a hamburger, a chicken burger, or a vegan burger. My chicken burger was the worst excuse for food I have ever experienced. The...hamburger was tasteless. The drinks we had were delicious, the food was horrible and they truly did not care. I guess they were making plenty of money on drinks. I only gave it a 2 because of the tasty drinks.
We had high hopes for this place but unfortunately we were disappointed by the food. The rarebit was pretty good (6/10). The lamb cawl was fair (4/10) and the steak ale pie was poor (2/10). Both the cawl and the pie had a bad slightly metallic aftertaste. The pie was way too salty and flavors were unbalanced (we couldn’t finish it because it was so unpalatable a rarity for us). We hope they can improve in the future!
Really enjoyed my first experience of this little gem of an eatery in Cardiff. The food was great value and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Good value for money especially if Groupon have a deal on. Only thing that was hard is that the toilets...are down quite steep steps so not ideal for anyone disabled(me) or hard of walking. However this will not put me off visiting there again.

On our arrival to Cardiff, we came here for breakfast. It's quite close to the train station. My husband had the full welsh while I had a drink I wasn't particularly hungry) but after seeing my husband's breakfast, I started picking off his plate!...:D But that was just as well because he couldn't finish it! It is a very copious breakfast and delicious! Service was quite fast too.
The food, staff and atmosphere was amazing. The staff could not do enough for us and were really friendly and welcoming. The bottomless brunch was excellent, too and they topped us up as soon as our glasses were empty without having to ask. Highly recommend!
I always like the mood here, but eating was unconsistent sometimes they have a crunchy meal sometimes not so good. looks, however, as if they have eaten a long-term reliable chef who does justice. Rear personnel .
Very welcoming and caring staff, serving delicious traditional Welsh food in a lovely cosy atmosphere absolutely the right place for one of many rainy days in Cardiff. Definitely recommendable.

eating was great when the meat stock plate more than enough for two. the staff was very friendly and the service fast. the prices were good and had a nice afternoon there
Have been coming here since 2015 and the place still as outstanding. Amazing food and friendly staff.
