Back in Munich, basically only one downtown place ever met our expectations. Now,...Pizzaza has opened recently and we have already become regulars. We are really happy to have such a great pizza place in the neighborhood! On all our visits (probably a dozen times by now), the pizza has been fantastic. The restaurant is quite close to our place, so we visit there once in a while. We really like the atmosphere in the restaurant the lights are welcoming and cozy, most of the sitting areas are comfortable, the acoustics are good. Also the service...is professional, not pushy, but not lazy. The heart of the restaurant the big Italian oven is in the center, open to the viewers, and it's a great perk to be seated at the bar and watch. The food is good quality, pizza, pasta, some meat and fish meals nothing extra special or innovative, but tasty. Pizzas are big could easily be shared. Pastas are small though Great for having a casual dinner with friends.
eating is ok, but if they don't speak German, I wouldn't recommend this place. they seem to be a problem when they speak English. our order was wrong, but that was okay, there is a language barrier. then we asked about directions and were sometimes ignored by the manager who speaks English. he was only annoyed with a sculp on his face and turned his back. not very customer-friendly. there are many good restaurants in Munich that like to have English speaking customers. that is not one of them.
Contrary to other reviews, I find the pricing at this restaurant to be reasonable compared to other Italian restaurants in the area. Of course, it's not in Italy' Italian, but it's good for what it is. Recommend pizza over other dishes.
