I think the restaurant in this hotel survives for two reasons. Firstly, that the hotel is popular for school trips. Secondly, that there is virtually no competition within walking distance. On our first visit we assumed we should wait to be seated. All staff ignored...us. When I asked a staff member whether we should just sit in an empty table I was rudely told he was too busy to speak to me. We found a recently vacated table, not yet cleared and sat. The food was ok. We went there for dinner and had a really nice service from the waitress. The food was amazing, salmon steak with spinach, steak and salad and Gambas marinara were exquisite. However in the end our experience was ruined by a rude attitude and comment from...one of the managers. We were told we can stay until and at we have already paid(forced) and then the manager said they did other arrangements and we need to leave and also we have no right as we don't have a reservation They waited for us to finish and as soon as we paid (my friend was still finishing her meal) the lady manager acted in a very rude manner and asked us to leave. Pity.
Called into this restaurant following a long walk, the waitress was lovely and the choice of food was really good. I order pasta which was delicious. We had been in Mayrhofen for 13 days so it was nice to have something a little different to...the usual Austrian fare which although lovely was similar in most restaurants. The view from the terrace is beautiful and if we had discovered the Restaurant Pizzeria Sidan earlier in our stay we would have been back. Well worth the 30 minute walk from the station in Mayrhofen. If your holidaying in the Ziller valley and fancy a change then Pizzeria Sidan will not disappoint.
We visited this restaurant twice on a recent day break to Schwendau. It is a lovely, busy restaurant with a good selection of pizzas and pastas. They also do take out. The prices were really reasonable. We had two courses with an alcoholic drink...each for euros. The staff were very accommodating. They got us a space at the bar to eat after we turned up without booking after enjoying apres ski across the road and even squeezed us in at late notice on New Year's Eve a day later despite being fully booked. Would definitely recommend.

Because the restaurant is at walking distance from our accommodation, we have enjoyed many meals in this restaurant. The very friendly waitresses quickly serve the pizza's and other food. The wide variety of dishes and many different pizza's should be enough to please anyone. This...all at very reasonable prices.
A proper Italian restaurant- worth the min walk from our B&B! Loved the food, quick and polite service, proper sizes of the portions and really good prices! We chose it for our last supper in Austria and regretted not coming earlier the steak.. salad, salmon steak and the gam as we're amazing!
Stayed here with the school as I'm the driver of the coach and what can I say the place is wonderful the hosts /owners top notch the food is so tasty and the establishment is so clean and welcoming
If you are not looking for typical austrian food, try this place for pizza. It is so good and you can speak romanian, slovak, turkish and what other languages. International, but really tasty.

We have had two really nice dinners with lots of different foods- for kids and adults and they were all fantastic. And the prices were very reasonable. Definately worth a visit.
A very relaxed, friendly atmosphere with really good pizzas and local beer. Attentive service by a lovely waitress who spoke good English. Would definitely return.
