Pizzeria Toro - Table reservation

I'm usually not the one to leave reviews. But, I must make an exception in the case of Toro and tell you why for my money they are not only the best Pizzeria in Durham but around! Last night my mother and I went there for dinner. Because of a scheduling blunder, I ended up arriving way before her. After waiting for some time, it was already around 22:30 and not many people were left in the dining area. The staff would be forgiven for wanting to get all of the patrons out of the door and close up shop. But, not once did my waiter nor anyone else made me feel uncomfortable or unwelcomed. Instead of trying to usher me out of the place, the waiter suggested that I could wait as long as I needed...

We took our visiting friends from Austin for their last Durham outing before heading back. Three different pizzas didn’t disappoint- (we knew they wouldn’t! Buffalo Mozzarella, Brussels Sprouts, and Fennel Sausage. The beet salad got rave reviews. The service is always friendly and sitting by the wood fire oven was an extra treat on such a cold afternoon.

Great place! We were visiting Durham and had a great dinner there before heading home. We had a beet salad and sweet sausage pizza. Enjoyed it! Pizza was a little salty. Dessert was excellent! We would be back to try more items from their menu.

This was our first visit and it was absolutely perfect! By far the best pizza we have eaten! Service was perfect as well. We can't wait to go back to Durham! This place will remain in our must return list!

The soft egg, arugula oyster mushroom pizza was delicious! And the salad special was fresh and excellent. The service was on point. I highly recommend !
