I was referred to this place by my Greek Friend. She said this is the most authentic and reasonable priced Greek place in the DMV area. This is a small hole in the wall, but the food blew us away. I don't get impressed easily and I need the food to extra special to give a place a 5-star. Plaka delivered on that front. The food was flavorful and the portions were generous. My friend ordered three appetizers, dolma (stuffed grapes) and a special falafel appetizer dish and all of them were tasty. I ordered the chicken souvlaki with salad and fries, and that too was amazing. The chicken was tender (despite it's all white meat), the salad was fresh, the lemon vinaigrette was amazing and the fries...
Stopped by here for a late lunch on a Sunday. The place wasn't crowded at all, good parking out front and back, but in a busy area. The food was pretty good, it wasn't great, but it was decent. We got the Plaka Gyro and Falafel appetizers. Again, nothing to rave about. The people were nice, the place seemed relatively clean. Overall it was fine, prices aren't super high either.
This is our Casual “go/to” place for a good, reasonable meal. Have to admit the quality varies from time to time. Our fav meal is pork souvlaki dinner with roasted potatoes and salad. We usually have take out but occasionally will dine in. It’s an order at the counter very casual restaurant
Ordered from this location for the first time, the fries were old unseasoned the gyros were dry. We tried calling the location, but the woman who answered said she’d tell the chef, said thank you very much, and hung up. Was hoping to enjoy the food, but unfortunately did not.

Small place for eating in. Chicago Gyro season well, tender meat, ingredients fresh and came out hot. A lot of meat. The calamari was also hot but bland but cooked well. Definitely would go back and try a different gyro
I have liked Plaka in the past, though the prices have gotten very high for what you get. Tonight I ordered a chicken souvlaki bowl and it had three small pieces of chicken in it for $15 and no pita bread included.
Oh man, great authentic Greek food in Northern Virginia. Great variety of dishes, great customer service and very affordable. Good for the whole family. I strongly suggest.
Excellent food that is consistent in quality of presentation and taste. Service is low-key and efficient. The Greek red works nicely with the classic gyro. Less is more.
