I'm a fan of Plantation Café, really I am, but this location just has lost it. It may have been great in 1974, but it got stuck there and never moved forward. The food really isn't that good. Ham and cheese omelette was just diced ham with cheddar cheese put on the plate and a scrambled egg placed on top. Hashed browns were greasy and tasted like the grill hasn't been cleaned. It was a beautiful day on Hilton Head. We rode our bikes to the café, where the hostess greeted us warmly. The food came out quickly and was excellent. However, our waitress was rather unfriendly; she didn't check in with us once our meals were served and didn’t ask if we wanted a coffee refill. This lack of service is why I'm giving a rating of 3. On a positive note, the food server who brought our meals was very pleasant. This visit took place at 9 AM on a Wednesday.
To start, the food was a 5 out of 10. Not good, not bad. The service was terrible. Our waitress didn't even check in on us. (other than getting our drink, and food order). Our waitress acted like she didn't want to be there. We ha no refills, we had to flag her down and get her attention for the check. Won't come back. I don't recommend you to go there.
We visit the Plantation Cafe every time we come to Hilton Head Island, and we've tried nearly every item on the breakfast menu, all of which we've thoroughly enjoyed.
