The poet and castle is a great country pub. And definitely well worth a visit. It has a excellent selection of real ales and ciders along with a very good choice of wines. They have a very good beer garden with views of open countryside. And a children's play area next to the pub . With access through a gate to the side of the beer garden. Children are safe to play there and parents can also keep an eye on them with out having to worry. It's very close to codnor castle as seen on the TV series time team. The staff are excellent and very very helpful. If you're passing take a look. You will be happy you did.
the poet and castle is a friendly little pub excellent service good selection of real ales and also many designs beer and layiers. a nice warm real fire at an end of the bar, although I never ate this time, looks like eating that was served really delicious.
absolutely amazing turkey roses here in the poet castle. piping hot, very tasty and a beautiful homemade yorkshire pudding. our party of 5 all loved it and cleared their teller. massive compliments on the cook xx
This place always has a warm and friendly feel! The staff and owners are great as are the patrons! Including the four legged kind! A very well kept bar, food is available and a great quiz too!
