"Stayed in a nearby ibis hotel and walked to restaurant. We had a discount voucher from the hotel do made sense to eat here. Service was very poor and slow. The food was not too bad, we had the steak and my pasta dishes. Meal for 2 was £38 inc. mains and desert and soft drinks so reasonable prices. Food was nice but the meat was just cooked and no seasoning. Could be better but we are in France and that’s how they like the food bland here. Next time will try different dishes. Not bad place."

This might be longer than our normal report. Arrived for late-ish Sunday lunch between two events. Car park full but got a space. restaurant full, but got a table. Speaks for itself to be so busy. Oh dear, the cold buffet table might be empty. Not at all, constantly replenished. Well done. Main courses well prepared and presented; very enjoyable half duck breast and an andouillette as part of the 15 €uro special. Excellent glass of wine as we were driving! Most notable was the wonderful staff. All seemed to be multi-tasking switching from supervision, to clearing tables to serving drinks. Another well done. Our super wee waitress was cheery and most efficient. When I asked Astrid to explain...

We arrived at 9.45pm., four adults and three young children, the place was very busy but they found us a table after fifteen minutes. Our drinks order was taken after ten minutes and the food order after another fifteen minutes. The menu is confusing appearing to say that vegetables are an extra 3.€50 for all main courses. The choice of meat was reasonable but whilst there were two choices of duck, there was no chicken except in a Caesar salad. The children had chicken nuggets and chips which appeared fairly quickly and we adults all had barbecued ribs which all varied in temperature and portion size, my wife's were barely warm. The ribs were all the same in one respect, they were hard to cu...

Rather positive feedback on the Poivre Rouge in Champniers. The pluses: The food tastes good, and looks prepared with good quality ingredients. There is a room especially for the children to have fun, while waiting for the food. A good way for the parents to breathe as well! The children menu is great. In fact, the portion is just as big as the adult's one: better value for money The view is not bad at all, as we are on top of the hill. Ask for a room on the back, next to the window if this is important to you. The minuses: The choice is limited. I wish there was a bit more alternatives to beef. By contrary to the main meals, the buffet did not taste that great: too much sauce and not enough...

Not felt welcome. wrong drink arrived, waitress obviously not listening. Husband ordered half a duck breast which is served with. orange sauce, green. beans and dauphinois potatoes. He asked if he.could have frites instead of the dauphinois potatoes. When the meal came it was JUST half the duck breast and frites! I called one of the waiting staff over to explain....he went off and brought the orange sauce but. no green beans....disgusted...we couldn't get out of there quick enough....the frites were awful too! Won't be going back and would not recommend it.
