If you're near Glacier Park, you absolutely have to make a trip to Polebridge. It's a stunning area, and the Mercantile Shop has gained a reputation for its delicious Huckleberry bear claws. A freshly made Huckleberry bear claw is not only incredibly tasty but also makes for a great start to your camping breakfast. Just a heads up, the road to get there is gravel and might have some rough spots if it hasn’t been graded, so be prepared for a bit of an adventure. It's a bit off the beaten path, but if you haven't experienced Huckleberries before, this is a must-try! The bear claws are truly something special. It's a worthwhile stop on your way to Lake Bowman, as it's the only place around wher...

There are few places one goes to that truly stays with them, and this is one of those places. Remote, sunshine friendly people (often young), excellent--and I mean excellent--baked goods*, a cappuccino like you might find only in a big city environment, good coffee, camping supplies, touristy things, and history of the early days on the walls. I've been places the (mostly young) employees acted like they were doing you a favor by being there, but these people clearly are glad to be there and pass their good cheer onto the customer. Glacier NP is one of the truly premier national parks in America, and places like Polebridge only make it more special. *The Huckleberry Bear Claw, or the Cinnamo...
Great place at the end of the road. Many of the buildings are authentic and very old with a history to go along with the great food. No gas station so get gas beforehand or enjoy your walk through prime grizzly habitat. The staff is very friendly and ready to answer any question you may have. Small playground with climbing bars in the shape of an old steam locomotive. 16 miles from the Canadian border but the checkpoint is closed. There is a mercantile with outdoor seating to buy hot food and sit before starting your next journey. A gift shop as well. Friendly loveable dog roams the property ready to greet the next vehicle in exchange for a scratch behind the ear.
Polebridge was a must on our Montana trip. I heard about it in a song from Owl City and it looked interesting on photos so that we did the drive. It's worth it. This is a small shop with souvenirs, a bakery and other types of food. No phone service and it is near Canada! There are some big dogs that welcome you and they are sweet. The staff here is friendly. The views are also beautiful. If you think about making the ride of Whitefish or Glacier, just do it. Do not forget to buy a delicious bear claw. Book a table now
Fantastic experience, albeit quite pricey. This might be the most delectable bakery I've ever visited. We purchased 8 bear claws (possibly the best I've ever tasted), 1 fritter, 1 lemon huckleberry bar, 1 monkey pull-apart loaf, and 1 huckleberry loaf, totaling $85. I was taken aback by the lack of listed prices. The food was exquisite! If I return, I would definitely choose the lemon huckleberry bar over the bear claw, and I'd also get the monkey pull-apart loaf.
This restaurant has a lively and unique vibe! It's an establishment that caters to a variety of tastes. Additionally, the lack of cell service in the area allows you to truly enjoy your surroundings! I highly recommend the jalapeño rolls and the ricotta poppy seed rolls—they're a perfect 10 out of 10.
It's a bit a car to come, but it's worth trying the Huckleberry bear claws for the bakery. There is a beautiful picnic area and a place for the children to stretch their legs after the ride. There are some souvenirs (t shirts, cozies, books) in the wishlist for purchase.

"Not a great photo, but foie gras appetizer is creamy decadent. Don’t waste time looking at entrees. Get the gnocchi. It’s filled with Asiago, like a gnocchi ravioli. We’ll be back."
