I have a significant issue with the customer service at this restaurant. The man at the register is exceptionally rude. I visited twice, hoping the first time was just a bad day for him, so I tried to be understanding. I really wanted to support this business since they often have few customers, but his rudeness is a consistent problem. When I paid in cash and offered exact change to make it easier for him, he reacted with a lot of attitude. I was just trying to help! If he doesn’t want my business, I’ll take it somewhere else — and that’s exactly what I intend to do. I won’t be coming back here, but I will definitely continue to visit House of Pong because it’s the best!
I’ve visited Pong’s twice, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing. The restaurant owner seems unfriendly and appears uninterested in serving customers. They used to offer customizable ramen, but that option has been taken away. When we inquired about it, he simply pointed to a shelf behind us, where we found instant cup ramen. If you’re in search of authentic ramen, this is not the place to go. The food is mediocre at best, and the owner’s unpleasant demeanor adds to an atmosphere that feels uninviting. I suggest exercising caution if you decide to eat here.
I've been a long-time fan of this restaurant, but it has really declined recently. The remarks about the person at the register are spot on; he appears grumpy and seems uninterested in helping customers. For instance, directing someone to the gas station when they need to use the restroom while waiting for their food is not acceptable. The quality of the food has also diminished; during my last visit, the waffle fries were soggy and oily, clearly just microwaved. It's truly disappointing. I guess it's another casualty of the pandemic. It was great while it lasted, Pong's.
I ordered the vegetable ramen, and it was completely bland. I've definitely had much better ramen for the same price, if not less. My friend got the crispy chicken ramen, and he encountered the same problem—no flavor at all. Overall, I found the ramen to be disappointing. On top of that, there's no indoor seating available. However, I will say that the customer service was decent.

Fantastic ramen in a cozy little place! It's take-out only, but you can enjoy your meal outside. The owner is incredibly friendly and came out to share information about his other restaurants in downtown Claremont. It turns out we've dined there too, and it’s no surprise that the food is excellent as well. Be sure to check out House of Pong in Claremont!
I dined at this restaurant today and was thrilled by the extensive variety on the menu! I opted for the pork udon and paired it with a Sapporo. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to try more dishes, such as the jalapeño poppers or one of the mixed drinks! Be sure to give it a visit—you won’t be disappointed!
I really don’t understand why this restaurant is still operating. They appear to be closed more often than they’re open, with hours that are very inconsistent. Although their posted closing time is 6 PM, I found the doors locked today at 2:45 PM. I suggest saving your money and opting for another dining spot.
This might be the best ramen I've ever tasted. I can't recall what I ordered on my last visit, but it was excellent. Overall, it's a great place, although the drinks are a bit on the weak side.

Pongs is consistently excellent. The broth is full of flavor, and the servings are generous. Every dish I’ve tried there has been delicious.
The ramen I enjoyed here was bursting with flavor, and the portions were quite generous. I wholeheartedly recommend Pongs to everyone.
