I've been going to/ordering from Ponzu for a long time. I usually order a bibimbap and scallion pancake with seafood, the photos attached. I've also had their sushi and doen jang chigae, both of which are good. The only dish I wouldn't recommend is their calamari; one thing that occasionally goes wrong with their dishes is they're too oily. In the case of their calamari, it feels like the batter isn't thick enough to absorb the oil, or else it's just not what I'm used to eating. The fried part is whitish instead of the typical golden, and it's just greasy. Besides that, I'd actually say they've improved over the years. This is my favorite restaurant in Waltham to get sushi. I love their location as they are located on Moody Street which is often closed for driving traffic during the summer which allows you to walk the strip and have a nice dinner. They are also close to the larger public parking area which allows for easier access if you don't want to walk far. The food is excellent. My go-to is the bibimbap with crispy rice in a stone bowl, and any of their specialty sushi's with unagi. Their prices are reasonable and their portion size is good. Honestly, the sushi and steamed dumplings were fine, but not special. We sat outside which was nice, but might have led to service being slower. The appetizers came out one at a time rather than all together, which was kind of annoying in our group of 4 one mouthful per person with 5 minutes in between each dish. The best dish was the spring rolls. They were substantial, hot, and the perfect amount of crispy. It took a long time to get the check after our meal.
Amazing food, good sake selection, and the owner chatted with us and was extremely friendly. Everything came out pretty quick even when we put multiple orders in. We mostly had sushi and everything was very fresh and presented beautifully. They also had specials based on dish that had come in just the day before, in particularthe toro which was outstanding. The price wasn't too bad either. This will definitely be my go-to sushi spot in Waltham!

We had the Dolsot Bibimbap Tofu. It was excellent! The staff was excellent as well.
Great sushi/sashimi options and not too expensive. The staff is very friendly.
