For the amount I paid, I expected a top-notch dining experience, but unfortunately, neither the service nor the food met those expectations. The service felt more mediocre than anything, and the food had an off-putting taste, lacking proper seasoning. I rarely leave negative reviews or recommend against a restaurant, but after spending $178 for a meal for four adults and two children, I anticipated something more akin to a steakhouse or even Applebee's. It’s disappointing because I had heard such great things about this place. I would advise others to save their money and seek out a restaurant that offers better service and taste.
I have dined at this restaurant twice, and both times, the bill for two adults and one child exceeded $300. Regrettably, we had to return our meals on both occasions. While the prices reflect gourmet dining, the quality of the food did not live up to the expectations set by those prices. Additionally, the service left much to be desired. I cannot recommend this restaurant. With such high costs, one would anticipate outstanding service and exceptional food, but unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. It's disappointing, especially since I had heard wonderful things about this place, but both visits fell short of expectations.
I really enjoy Porter Jacks, but there's one minor drawback: they only serve beer and wine. This is a bit disappointing for those of us who prefer cocktails with our meals. I don't quite understand why they made this choice, especially considering they have a spacious indoor bar. Expanding their drink menu seems like it would be a smart financial move. Other than that, the restaurant is fantastic! The service is consistently exceptional, and the food is quite delicious as well (though I wish the salad bowls were a bit larger).
I've visited this restaurant numerous times and I can confidently say that the food is the best in Manning. Unfortunately, the parking situation is quite poor, though that might be manageable. What really cannot be ignored, however, is the disruptive presence of homeless individuals who harass customers as they arrive and leave. The owner must make a critical decision regarding what takes precedence: helping the homeless or ensuring the safety and satisfaction of their patrons.

The food at this restaurant was overpriced and mediocre. It arrived cold and obviously wasn't homemade, likely coming from frozen sources. There was nothing that set this place apart from any other small-town diner. The waitress hurried us, even though there were no other customers waiting to be seated. We spent less than 50 minutes there. It's unfortunate because this area could really use a quality dining option. Service: Dine-in.
I ordered the Pittsburgh ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection. The sweet potato hash browns resembled home fries but were still incredibly tasty. The asparagus was also cooked just right. This restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat each week. I've enjoyed every dish I've tried here, particularly the fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, salmon, ribs, and flounder tenders. The customer service is excellent, and the atmosphere is ideal for both a romantic evening and a family gathering. I truly love this place!
After a short drive from our hotel on I-95, we had an amazing dinner that we highly recommend. I tried two appetizers while my wife ordered a steak, and every dish was delightful. The highlights were definitely the fried oyster and the deviled egg appetizer.
