Our second visit was even better than our first and that was great! My wife and I visited the Puckersley with friends who live close by. It was our second visit and we remembered that the food was good. A new menu had been introduced just that evening (Friday the 13th) and I noticed a selection of “Rice Bowls” from which I chose the King Prawn option. I can’t fully remember the menu description but it was something like “Salt and Pepper Spicy King Prawns Rice Bowl” MY GOODNESS! I have eaten in some fancy places and never have I been more surprised and delighted by a dish than I was that night. It was served beautifully, the prawns were lightly battered like Tempura prawns they were on a bed...

If we could give 0 star we would AVOID. We had our Mum's funeral reception at the Puckersley and it was a complete disaster. We ordered food for 60 people (6 homemade pies) and only 4 were served. The chips were in a little bowl enough for about 5 people and were not replenished quick enough. The baked beans were cold. No red cabbage. We ordered sandwiches (served on very thick bread, cheese, ham, egg, no garnish, awful) and meals for people who didn't get any food. We were given a discount but it can't compensate for the dreadful and upsetting experience. The only good thing were the waiting on staff. The day up to then had been as perfect as it could be on such a sad occasion. The Puckersl...
After waiting for another 30 minutes, our meals finally arrived. Unfortunately, my fish and chips were lukewarm and not hot, indicating that they had been sitting out for a while before being served. The portion was small, with only 8 chips, and the batter on the fish was soft instead of crispy. The peas were almost cold, and the tartar sauce had an unusual addition of onions. Overall, I was disappointed with the slow service, the quality of the meal, and the lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. The price of nearly £14 for my meal did not match the poor experience. I had higher expectations for homemade food and was left feeling unsatisfied.

The pub has a nice layout and atmosphere with friendly staff, but the food was very disappointing. The chips were terrible and the menu was lackluster. I won't be returning for food in the future, which is a shame because the location is lovely.
The pork belly rice bowl with kimchi and crispy kale is amazing. The cottage pie also excellent. Clearly the chef is very good. Excellent price too, the pork and rice dish just £12. As a JW Lees pub there are the usual tasty beers on the tap.
The food at this restaurant is very mediocre and the pub was empty. The only positive aspect was the service, as the staff worked hard. Overall, this place is very inconsistent. It's a shame, considering it's so close to where I live.
Had a lovely lunch here. I have been loads of times before but sat inside with our dog and usually had a Sunday lunch. As it was sunny we sat in the garden and the views are lovely. The menu is slightly smaller but still very good Book a table now
