Rating: 3.7 Stars This was my first time ordering from Pueblo Solis. I decided to do takeout. This was a mistake. They were highly disorganized. I was told that the food would be ready for pickup in 25 minutes; and, when I got to the restaurant 30 minutes after the order, I still waited another 25 minutes. I was pushed to the side and ignored. When I would ask if there was an update, I was given no information. When the food was finally brought out, it was placed on a table across from the bar. I asked the hostess if I could take it and was told that she would be right with me. She was not, and the waiting continued. This needs to improve and was a 3/5 star customer service experience. Really innovative options for the veggies and the pescies err, pescatarians among us. I arrived on a Monday afternoon it's hard to find any place open on Mondays in South City and decided to sit on the patio, though it was arguably too cold for that. (I was warm from walking and optimistic. Their chips are fairly good, but their salsas were the standout: salsa fresca, salsa verde, and one made from dried chilies. I ordered sopes and tamales. I had heard of but never tried sopes, but they're a great vegetarian option just beans, cheese, and pico de gallo on a corn cake base. It comes with guac, as well. I also tried both the jalapeño and cheese tamales and the bean ones. The bean were plain...
We stopped in for dinner after viewing the Christmas lights in the surrounding neighborhood last night. We had three adults along with three kids and a dog. They welcomed all of us with open arms. I can't remember our waiters name, but he's been with them since they opened in 1998. He along with the other wait staff did an amazing job taking care of us. They even brought out a cold water bowl of water. The food was so yummy and good, you can tell when things are made fresh in house. And they defiantly do just that. From the start with the homemade chips and the three choices of salsa they bring out to the fajitas and street tacos we had, it all was so amazing. I can't wait to get back there...
We tried this place on a whim because we live so close and hadn't eaten there before. Boy, were we blown out of the water! We were able to do curbside pickup which helped me feel safe and at ease. The food was so delicious and flavorful. It truly had an authentic mexican feel and taste. The tamales were so wonderful and the masa was so smooth and flavorful. The portions were huge. We were so satisfied and cant wait to eat here again. We have finally found our new favorite local Mexican restaurant! Book a table now
Mediocre. I can’t understand how a Mexican restaurant doesn’t offer jalapeños, whether grilled or not (chiles toreados), as a side option. My husband thought the street tacos were just okay. I had the chicken achoté, and it was underwhelming. Nothing special that would make me want to come back.
My first time Friday 13, 2022 and there was NO Friday the 13th problems at all. Had the best tamales I’ve ever had and the best margarita in my life…. The owner is fantastic and the crew were amazing. Hope to visit again on my next visit from Alabama !!!!
We go mainly for the margaritas. Food is decent for the price. They play loud music near the outside seating which can be hard to talk over. Our host/server was helpful in reseating us father from the speaker.
The quality of the food has decreased since our last visit—the tacos weren't very good. The margaritas were just average. Book a table now
Foods and service is great and prices are reasonable. Best margaritas in St Louis.
