"Ordered sandwiches as only wanted a lighter meal. Two small pieces of sourdough, smallest amount of goats cheese spread over, a few thin slices of beetroot, small amount of onion jam, a few sprigs of watercress. No napkins . The price £7.50. Will definitely not be ordering this again."

I had come with my partner for drinks and I had a gerkin from the local chip shop on the table closed wasn’t intending to eat here). I was about to get money out of my bag to go get some drinks and a waitress came over and told us to leave as I had food on the table the gerkin) when I questioned this, she said I cannot have it and have to eat it else where before they would serve me. I said I wasn’t going to eat it and we just wanted a drink before going home from a trip in London. I am utterly disappointed in this place and I will NEVER be coming back. Would would’ve happened if I had gone to Tesco for some shopping then had a drink, would I be told to leave because of that? Just disgusted...

We haven't been to this pub for some time. It's rare that I come out of a pub/restaurant hungry but I did. I had the halloumi chips which consisted of a mimiscal portion for £7.50. I had the lamb meal which was more suited as a starter, no potato or bread. The waffle dessert I could have made at home in 20 seconds. My husband and his friend love real ale which is supposed to be kept at room temperature, in the Queen Victoria it was cold. The ice cream dessert was also the tiniest I have ever seen. Very poor value for money.

Very pleasant staff, good range of ales, excellent variety of food in good portions. Four of us had a variety of main courses, none of which disappointed and all left us too well fed to sample desserts, although here to the variety was almost too tempting for wisdom. A place to mark for early and many returns. BTW so many doors it is possible to lose ones bearings inside but staff always available to render kindly guidance.

We eat here regularly but the food has definitely gone downhill lately. Sunday roast had rubbery chicken skin, not nice and crispy as you would expect. Yorkshires were dry and almost shattered when you tried to cut them and only one small piece of broccoli. The chef always under estimates the cauliflower cheese side dish, so if you choose to eat later in the day, you can forget about ordering this as they won’t have any.
