This bar offers the quintessential New York speakeasy experience and is a definite must-visit! In order to enter, you ring a bell as you make your way down to the basement of an unmarked building. Once inside, you are greeted with a cozy and intimate atmosphere, complete with mood lighting and ample comfortable seating for groups. Every cocktail we sampled was delicious, and the variety of unique drinks available is impressive. The bartenders are also willing to craft custom concoctions to suit your taste. Overall, this is one of the top bars I have visited in New York City.

So so. The garden is a backyard vibe less than a « secret », feels more like an afterthought with fake grass and AC units everywhere. The plus : the people working here are super friendly, but the cocktails are sadly less than extraordinary despite the mega description. Could use a cocktail specialist on the bar and a menu revisit to make it total magic. The inside has great potential to be incredible but for the moment the vibe is a bit stale and kitsch. Good for tourists perhaps. Not really 5 star experience.

Very funky place that fits the classic speakeasy style. Reservations recommended as this place gets very crowded. Seating is interesting, as areas are sectioned off with sheer curtains. Scan the QR code at the little table and you 're greeted with an expansive eclectic cocktail menu. The drinks were very good and offered unique flavors. The place is a bit loud and was quite warm inside. Overall a good experience and I 'm glad to have visited.

The restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere and excellent service! I really enjoyed the Mayfair cocktail (made with gin, apricot, and other ingredients), even though it wasn't listed on the menu. It was recommended to me by Ali. Benoit was incredibly friendly and checked in on us to ensure we were enjoying our drinks. We arrived on a Wednesday at 10:20 without a reservation and were seated immediately. Overall, a great experience. Book a table now

Went on a Holiday without reservation. Waited outside in the cold for 50 mins, but the drinks were worth the wait. All the cocktails we picked were great. Not too strong like many other cocktail bars. The person who greeted us at the door forgot we were already waiting for 45 mins. The staff was great, very polite and attentive. I would suggest reserving a day or 2ahead on resy.

After flying in cattle cars to NYC and making way via multi modal transportation to one's lackluster lodging where a cheeky check in cashier led one to look longingly to unrewarding unpacking, there's not a better Midtown East locale to have top flight libations deftly fashioned in swanky Victorian surrounds. Best cocktail experience in many years. Thanks Bob!

Honestly one of the worst Negronis I’ve ever had. Was pretty much electric red. All Campari. Totally skipped the vermouth. Pretty much undrinkable unless you like straight up Campari. And when we told them the guy working there said “well not everyone has taste” The other drinks might be fine, but the Negroni is a No-noni

Maybe I came at a bad time but “sitting at the bar” actually means standing which is fine if you’re just stopping by for a drink but there’s a weird tension with the waitstaff as if you’re in the way. Might be better to sit down in a group. Dimly lit and romantic and drinks were good! Not necessarily a must see Book a table now

The drinks were excellent. I would definitely return. The best lychee drink I have ever had in the city. The interior has a stylish and secretive atmosphere with dim lighting, while the outdoor area is also pleasant and perfect for enjoying afternoon drinks.
