I wouldn’t recommend Ralph's Italian Ices Ice Cream for either Italian ice or ice cream. Their menu, displayed inside and outside the store, boasts dozens of flavors, but they were out of every ice cream flavor I asked about. When I inquired about available options, I was told they only had strawberry, chocolate, a small amount of vanilla, and one other flavor. I decided to try the water ice instead, but it tasted freezer-burned and crystallized. The service left much to be desired as well—the employee seemed more interested in his phone than updating the sold-out flavors on the menu boards. I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend this place. There’s a Haagen-Dazs just a short walk away...
I rarely write a review. But I drove so far to go to Ralph's ices on middle neck road and the experience wasn't acceptable. First only 1 young kid working there with very little experience. No one to clean the tables or floors. There were small flies and ants on the floor. I ordered the coffee hot fudge Sunday and chocolate chocolate chip ices. The coffee ice-cream was fine, the hot fudge was watery and had a very sour taste. Thank God it was on the bottom, no crunch was added. I threw out half the sunday. The chocolate ices came as coffee. The chocolate ices was fine. But it is never acceptable eating everywhere in filth. Hire another kid to clean.
What was that supposed to be? It definitely wasn’t the soft serve I expected. There was syrup at the bottom, no swirl, and the flavor was neither vanilla nor chocolate. I had to dig to the bottom to find the actual flavor, which was just a liquid drizzle. The staff was too busy with a line to address the issue. Ralph, please hire better help who can handle problems as they come. He admitted there was a problem with the soft serve but served it anyway. A wasted $6.50!
To echo some of the previous reviews: CLEAN THIS PLACE!!! The young people that work there are quite nice but need help. There are small fruit flies at the counter and at the tables. The soft serve ice cream machines are often broken and the place looks run down and smells bad. It has gone downhill year after year. Whoever owns this place should close it or sell it to someone who has more respect for their customers. Never going back.

Went there for the first time and now it's the last time. Place is unclean with sticky floors. Ice cream wasn't that great and took them a while to make a simple sundae due to machines not working properly. The owner needs to wake up and do this right. Not have a bunch of kids manage the place. Definitely ruining the family name and tradition of Italian ice. What a shame.
If you're interested in a cold treat of shaved ice I have a great idea for you that will make you happy and feeling very nice! Go to Ralph's ice's on middle neck road and you'll be treated like gold! The staff is kind and helpful they know their product well, they will leave you happy with a smile and a thanks they go the extra mile!
Terrible, they have an abusive worker at this location. The person needs to be fired. He mistreats his fellow employees as well as the customers. This location needs to be closed. The owner is well aware of the situation and chooses to ignore it.
The posted hours are incorrect. They close an hour and a half earlier than stated, so please update the information.
