My partner and I ate here on Saturday night as we were staying at Orton Hall. A very unfortunate decision sadly. We ordered chicken wings to share followed by a Tempura lemon and basil cod for myself and a beefburger for my partner. After 40 minutes our starter hadn 't arrived so I informed the waiter. Everything that could go wrong -did! We arrived and were greeted by our waiter telling us to wait while he was tapping at the computer. This went on for a few mins. He showed us to a table with very dirty condiments and wilting flowers. It was also next to very hot radiator. We asked to move near the window. It took 10-15 minutes at least to have order taken then further 5-10 mins to get drinks. After 45 mins I enquired where our starters were -waiter apologised that order hadn’t gone through system. During our stay at the Orton Hall Hotel, our package included a dinner allowance at the Ramblewood Inn. Intrigued by the marketing, we decided to give it a try. The Inn is connected but separate from the hotel, with the swimming pool and spa in between. It has its own entrance, allowing non-guests to dine there as well. The seating area outside offers views of the drive and car park, while the traditional bar also serves food. At the Ramblewood. Been our usual Saturday night drinking venue for years but after a time of not being able to attend was very disappointed in the service. On arrival (on time )was told our table would be 5 mins. Absolutely fine we went to the bar and ordered drinks but 30 mins later had to go and ask what was happing with our table Explaining we has a diabetic with us who needed food. Fast and professional service. Lovely and friendly staff. The chief(s) are doing an excellent job with the taste and presentation of the food. My partner, child and I we’re very happy and left felling very full..... We felt welcomed and appreciated. The waiters had a friendly attitude with everyone they interact with; they will also be attentive while taking orders and anticipate customer needs before being asked. The price for three courses for two people, including one alcoholic drink each, was reasonable at £80+. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait too long between courses. The online menu was slightly different, so it's best to wait until you dine in person to make a decision. There were a variety of "pub food" options as well as some fancier choices. Overall, it was a decent meal but didn't impress me. The staff were friendly, though the attached bar was a bit noisy. I didn't realize that this was also a local pub, not just a restaurant with a bar.
I tried to book a table about 2 weeks in advance and was told nothing was available. I was staying at the hotel so it was suggested we could just go to the bar area and find a seat but that's a joke as hardly any seating in the bar area and nothing available so without wanting to leave the hotel grounds we had no other option but to eat in our room. Food was excellent however hardly any gluten free options and rather pricey for what was on offer. Overall a very disappointing visit.
I visited this restaurant 4 years ago and was very unimpressed with the food quality. Unfortunately, my recent experience was even worse. The pizzas were clearly frozen and poorly cooked, while the burgers were burnt to a crisp. I believe we were served from the overpriced bar menu. The salads were uninspiring and unappetizing. I have given this place two chances now, but I will not be returning. The restaurant was busy, so I assume there was a different menu and chef on duty.

Lovely food with good size portions. A huge thanks to Robbie Jo the chef for meeting our dietary requirements…I thoroughly enjoyed my pasta. Staff are very friendly and helpful. All the staff are very friendly and helpful
