Well, having moved in to the Edge Hill area we thought we would give it a go. From the outside a charming building, but when you enter it's a bit of a letdown and seems a bit run down, kind o like the operators have given up. On the first occasion I went the food was 'ok' without being great, certainly not at the level of Oceanworld fish and chips for example (a five minute drive away). Thinking I might have got a bad night I returned the following week to a shop that was empty. Asked the staff for a piece of fish and some chips and informed a thirty minute wait - for fish and chips with no other customers around. Needless to say I didn't wait and don't expect I will be trying again.
This was a favourite for many years, but the last few times Ive visited I was not impressed. Fish was greasy, chips very standard. This last time I ordered I couldn't help notice how dirty the place was - especially the handles on the ice cream freezer, to the point I would not want to touch it. Was told they were out of the fish I ordered and was upgraded free of charge to a more expensive one, I dont recall the fish type but it was smelly and greasy and I did not finish it.Shame, it's a great location and very convenient for pick up. They just need to be cleaner and consistent....
Lovey battered fish, fresh chips and friendly service! Loved that the shop had games to play while you wait for your order and the chips were cooked perfect and crunchy. Have had the battered a couple times this week and it is crunchy and the fish is fresh each time! Would recommend to anyone wanting decent fish and chips
Quick takeaway dinner. Very unassuming shop frontage. Service was friendly and magazines and games were available to play while we waited for our order. The company flyer said the best fish and chips in Cairns. Meal was excellent. Chips - perfect - nice and thick, not this French fry rubbish .Would certainly recommend.

I've often seen the crowds around Ramsden Fish and Chips on my way home. There are people pouring on to the street every evening no matter what time you pass. Ramsden Fish and Chips is quite honestly the best fish and chips in Cairns.
Drove from Edmonton today for lunch with family just to find they closed sign said open at 11.30am it now 12.10 and they closed WTF
I think this might be the only Indian restaurant in the cityWe are big fans of Indian food, and agree that this was excellent.
The food was delicious, with crispy fries and perfectly battered fish :D
