Nice atmosphere, great food but our server was lacking. She offered us water upon arrival which she never brought. When our beer came, she said she forgot our limes and would go get them. Nope! Then she took forever to come back and take our order. She did notice that our chips and salsa were empty and offered to bring us more but they never came. About 10 minutes later, she again noticed our chips and salsa were empty and asked if we wanted more. This time she finally brought them. This Mexican restaurant embodies everything I think of when I picture a classic establishment. The service is excellent, and the menu features all the traditional items you'd expect from an American Mexican restaurant, along with some unique options for vegetarians and health-conscious diners. The restaurant and restrooms are well-maintained and clean. The food is always fresh and served promptly. I used to have another favorite spot in town, but now I choose Rancheros; it's definitely worth the drive.
We went on New Years Eve. No wait at all!The food here is excellent, and there is plenty of it on the plates. Our waitress that night was so sweet, very attentive, and had a beautiful personality. She was so wonderful that I tipped her $40 on a $75 bill. She tried telling me no, no, too much, but I told her how much I appreciated her that night and for her to take the tip and enjoy it.
We'd always been El Toro people here in Dayton but tried Rancheros the other night since we were in the area and loved it. Very nice atmosphere and service. Delicious steak tacos, very fresh tasting and that goes for the complimentary chips and salsa too. Will definitely make a special trip back again sometime.Food: 5/5
