Malaysian spot with tasty, authentic options. Anthony Bourdain had been here before for the Sarawak laksa, and that’s exactly what I got. The broth was nuanced and immensely flavorful. Note that it does have shrimp. It was so good that even when my dad had some soup go down the wrong pipe, he still kept eating the soup in between coughing. The Malaysian combo came with 2 of each item chicken satay, murtabak (these little potato pastry things), and curry puff pastries (note there’s meat inside). My mom got the Nasi Kerabu with fried chicken and loved it. It came with blue rice, which was pretty cool, and the chicken was well done lightly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The mango s...

Rasa is an excellent halal Malaysian/Thai restaurant that I highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore new flavors. We visited on a Friday for lunch and found it to be pleasantly quiet. We were seated and served promptly, and the restaurant was impeccably clean. The staff was very friendly, and our server made several delicious recommendations, which we decided to try. For our starter, we enjoyed the satay chicken skewers, and for our main courses, we ordered the rendang beef and the mee hoon goreng noodle dish. Both dishes were flavorful, but we particularly loved the rendang beef. The portion sizes were generous, although the prices were a bit on the higher side. I'm definitely interest...
Food at Rasa was great. The place was fun and energetic. However, if you have a tight schedule, the restaurant might not be the place for you. Even though we had a reservation, we were kept waiting for over 45 minutes. While we were happy that Rasa had a full house, the hostess was unapologetic about the delay. (And the funny thing was Opentable still had available reservations for slots while the restaurant was packed. Not sure about the business practice!
Visit this restaurant on May 2022 for early dinner. The location is not far from subway, andnear NYU, makes it easy for access without a car or taxi. The service is good, when they know we are an asian people, greeting us in our mother tounge. Makes us feels at home ... The food delicious, fair price and they confirm this is a halal food. Recommended to visit this restaurant again if we visit NYC. Book a table now
This place has a charming, laid-back atmosphere. The service was amazing! We sat outside with our dogs in the cozy Covid Shack, and they even provided a water dish for our pups. The food was not only beautifully presented but also delicious. It's a great spot on Eighth Street to enjoy a pleasant outdoor meal at a reasonable price. Overall, it’s very comfortable and relaxing.
All the dishes ordered were so unique and authentic. I wouldn't say they had a western twist to it either. Everything was prepared quickly and fresh, and each bite was flavorful. The staff was extremely friendly! Would recommend for those looking for a new and unique restaurant to try. Pictured is the Nasi Kerabu and Rendang beef
As her allergic reaction escalated, a waitress repeatedly came over asking if she was okay, even though it was clear that she was not. This panicked approach was more confusing than helpful. While our waiter waived the bill, it hardly compensates for the hospital expenses we incurred.
Amazing! The food is incredible and fairly priced. I had the crispy fried flounder, a butterfly tea and onedo onedo as dessert. Everything was amazing but what made the experience really special was the service. Everyone is so so so nice and helpful. Could not recommend more! Book a table now
I visited for dinner and had the chicken teriyaki and a taste of the drunken noodles. The food was delicious and incredibly fresh! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our large group. I will definitely be coming back!
