Reason for visit: Happy hour with coworkers Date/time: Thursday evening, 6:00 PM Parking: Street parking; best to arrive early or take an Uber. This is one spot where Uber is definitely worth it. I found the last spot on Venice and walked over. There is parking in front, but it fills up by 5:30 PM with a 2-hour limit. There’s also street parking further down on Grand View, away from Venice, but it has a 1-hour limit (who wants to leave a bar after an hour or worry about moving their car?). Party size: 10 Atmosphere: Pretty laid-back; we sat in the back. It was cool outside, though flies showed up occasionally. TVs were on with the Dodgers game playing, but muted. Service: Friendly...

I love everything about this place. Let me start by stating that Mar Vista is a wonderfully underrated part of LA. The locals are kind, and there are many small businesses. There is all the good vibes of the beach without the stuck-up aesthetic common in SoCal beach cities. Now moving on to Rasselbock itself, outside and inside are worth sitting at, although I honestly prefer their back patio which is the best of both worlds, fresh air but with a bit of a roof over your heads. When it was rainy this November, I saw people get rained on while eating out front. All the same the heat lamps make it plenty comfy and the food is worth getting.

The schnitzel here is a must get, fried to a golden brown while still being moist and tender in the middle. The one with the wild mushroom sauce is our pick. Also tried the elk sausage which while unique didn't seem too different from any other sausage, maybe elk just has a light taste. The sauerkraut seemed like it was from a jar, the potato salad yummy homemade perhaps, the fries coated in a crispy batter, green beans were good, brussel sprouts probably the star of the side dishes, and skip the salad. All drinks were good. The potato pancakes were bite sized

This was our third time at Rasselbock and each time the food and service are amazing! Tonight, Josue was our server and his service was impeccable all night. He checked in on us enough to keep the drinks flowing but never in an annoying way. We ordered a few appetizers to share and, when they didn’t come out quick enough, he comped them for us. The vibe in the back dining room area was exactly what we were looking for and all four of us had an amazing time. We’ll be back soon!! Rasselbock is a small, charming, and cozy spot perfect for a date night! We had a reservation for 10 and were seated in the back, which was wonderful. The service and food were good overall. We started with the deviled eggs, potato pancakes, and pretzel from the menu to share. I ordered the chicken sausage with potatoes and Brussels sprouts, which was decent. The starters from the menu are definitely the highlight.

Great dog friendly spot for very authentic German food and imported beer! One of the very few bars in LA that carry my favorite beer of all time, Augustine Edelstoff (must try if you haven't). The portions for the food are pretty large, with the notableexception of the obatzda that came with the Bavarian pretzel we wish we had more of. The sauerkraut was really good as well.Highly recommend we'll be back for sure.

Amazing food and great deals on huge glasses of German beer! The vegan wurst was amazing and the sides did not disappoint. But I think my favorite part of the meal was the apple strudel. Don?t miss out on the pretzel, either!

Best German spot in Culver City. The selection of beers is terrific, and the food?! Out of this world! Try some of the currywurst, it’s a delicacy, and the burgers are boom!
