Despite the unappealing entrance, the restaurant is well-designed with an open kitchen. The dining area used to be a bank, so you can enjoy your meal in the former safe room. We decided to stick to appetizers as the main course descriptions were not enticing. The yellow fin tuna tartare was plentiful and flavorful. The crab legs, though frozen, were tasty. The tomato-based fish soup was a nice departure from the usual chowder, with a pleasant spiciness to it. The mussels were large and cooked in a delicious broth with tomato and garlic. The wine selection was a bit disappointing, as the Nova 7 Benjamin Bridge 2020 was more like a sweet sparkling beverage with low alcohol content. We opted fo...

Had an amazing meal here! Came here because Anthony Bourdain dined here during his last trip to Canada. It is the nicest restaurant I’ve seen in St John’s. I did the 7 course menu because I wanted to try everything they had to offer. The portions were small, which I didn’t mind because I don’t eat a lot. The bread wasn’t very good. The razor clams were very fresh. The pasta dish was probably my favourite. It also came with 2 fish dishes, which I didn’t really enjoy as much as I enjoyed the duck. And the set dessert was a strawberry one, which I switched out for a chocolate one. So I’m glad they were able to accommodate me. The service was fabulous and what you’d expect at a fine dining setti...
YUM! Raymonds certainly doesn't disappoint. Visited the end of 2020 and I'm still dreaming about the Parsnip Apple soup. It was hands down the best soup appetizer I've ever had the pleasure of trying. For the main I had the Pork and it was equally as tasty, the grilled cabbage on the plate really brought the flavours together, YUM! Our server was friendly attentive. The wine was delightful. While it is on the more expensive side, if you're looking for a special evening, Raymonds is the place to go! You truly get what you pay for in my opinion.
Had a wonderful dining experience here on vacation. Dining room is spacious, well-lit, and beautifully decorated. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive--not at all stiff/stuffy the way waitstaff can be at other similar fine dining establishments. Tasting menu was reasonably-priced (for the setting), delicious, and filling. Staff did a good job of explaining each of the dishes. My expectations were extremely high going in, and my expectations were fully met! Book a table now
Absolutely fabulous! Like the new menu structure. The wine pairing was amazing. Update: menu has changed again. Always makes it fresh. If you're going to do the tasting menu, go all in and do the full 7 course. The 5 course tends to be a bit sparse. The 3 course now has much better variety then in the past. Recommend this with wine pairing as well.
The best restaurant in St. John’s that also happens to be very vigilant to celiac disease. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about what I could and could not have. A few accommodations were made for the tasting menu. Overall amazing experience!
The service and food were spectacular, hence the reason this place is one of the top restaruants in Newfoundland. Yes the price might be a little high for some, but well worth it. Not a place to come to if you're looking for a burger or wings.
Amazing. Pretty expensive. We had the 5 course tasting menu wine pairing. Worth the price. Highlight of our trip. Special thanks to the sommelier she did an amazing job. Local and high quality food. Book a table now
The best food I’ve eaten in the city and they are very good with celiac disease. Staff were very knowledgable and there was nothing I couldn’t eat.
