One of the few restaurants in the Malua Bay area, it proved nonetheless a pretty good Chinese. Attached to the Malua Bay Bowling Club, it has a relaxing view over the bowling greens to the bush and is 700m from the beach. Decent sized meals and friendly, helpful staff keep it busy. We had honey prawns, chicken chow mien and a house special pork in mango, plum and white wine sauce all very tasty. They had a range of desserts, mostly of a European bent, of which we had ice cream with chocolate topping and baked mango and lychee cheesecake and whipped cream. A really good family restaurant.
We have visited Raymond's three times, and each experience has been consistently enjoyable. The food is always good, the service is prompt, and the deep-fried ice cream is definitely worth saving room for. It tends to get busy on weekends, so it's a good idea to make a reservation or arrive early (it opens at 5:30).
