The establishment is under new ownership. Unfortunately, this time around it falls quite flat and leaves much to be desired. The menu options are fairly similar to the old menu, but the undertaking of properly plating and creating a eating experience certainly could benefit from a lot of improvement. We were seated outside this fantastic location, with a great view of downtown surrounded by flowers and aged trees. The scenery of Read Rock is second to none in Calgary, a small rock path up reveals a century plus year old home that is truly breathtaking and provides a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. We were served quite quick, the GM was helping out with another young man who were friendly and...

We went with a group at the end of June for a lunch here, and everyone enjoyed their food. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. I had the braised beef and spaetzle, and was it ever good! The garden setting is stunning, quite the hidden gem. It seems the new owners are Austrian, and it really showed with my delicious noodle dish - I could eat that all day. It may take a small while to tweak things to get a cohesive menu going, but there's talent in the kitchen back there, so I'm sure they'll get there. This place is a little out of the way, and so word-of-mouth and returning customers (as opposed to people strolling by) are important - what they go for and what they expect mi...

This is truly one of the gems of the city. Definitely go for the view, cocktails, and coffee! The breakfast I ordered (The classic) was just ok. Eggs were done perfectly poached medium, but the potatoes were cold, turkey sausage reminded me of a hotdog and it only came with one piece of toast. I was expecting some hearty goodness of bread, but it was the most underwhelming piece of bread. Service was good. I just wish the food measured up to everything else amazing about this place.

The atmosphere & views of the city are awesome. The service was good even though very busy. Most of us enjoyed our meal. My husbands eggs were over cooked & he thought the bread was disappointing. I had the eggs Benedict with fruit & the fruit was hard. Our friend ordered dessert & again was disappointed. The grounds are a great place to explore where good walking shoes uneven paths.
