The restaurant we usually visit was closed so thought we would try this one and were not disappointed. We failed to see the menus clearly displayed on a wall but as soon as we chose a table a young man brought two menus to us. As requested, we ordered at the counter and our drinks were quickly brought to our table. We both chose baked potatoes, one with egg mayonnaise and the other with tuna mayo. These were provided with a small side salad in very reasonable time and both were excellent. The seating area inside appears quite limited but all the tables outside were occupied.

I stopped at this restaurant for a coffee and a cheese scone during lunchtime. Unfortunately, the scone was very dry and crumbly, even though they tried to warm it up to hide the staleness. There was no taste of cheese in it, so it might as well have been cardboard. The previous owners used to serve delicious scones with extra cheese and marmalade. While I understand that prices have gone up, charging over £3 for a bland scone and butter is excessive. I gave it 2 stars because the coffee was good.
This restaurant is a lovely spot for a casual meal. We enjoyed sitting outside on a sunny Saturday morning and the atmosphere was lively. I ordered the sourdough toast with Stilton, mushrooms, and mozzarella and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend it. My partner had a BLT sandwich, which he said was very fresh. We also tried a banana and strawberry smoothie, which was tasty, and the coffee was good as well. Overall, we had a great experience and would happily return to this restaurant.
Lovely little cafe, we were staying in bury st edmunds for the weekend and stumbled across this cafe for breakfast this morning. I had their pancakes with syrup and my husband had the full English. Both cooked lovely, pancakes were very fluffy and the hot drinks were delicious. Cute little cafe and friendly service also well priced. Book a table now
The lunch menu offers a good variety of options. Although not overly fancy, there is something for everyone's palate. The staff is very attentive to any dietary restrictions or allergies. I sat in a unique corner seat near the checkout, adding to the quirky and interesting ambiance of the restaurant.
I still can’t forget the taste of the Guinness cake! You MUST try it when you are there. The cafe is really cosy. Staff are incredibly nice. If you don’t know what to have, just get what they recommend. You won’t regret it! (based on experience)
“Really Rather Good” says it all. We called in this afternoon for tea and cake and it was a real treat. Friendly staff, tasty cake and tea, matching clean crockery with no chips and cracks and cosy atmosphere. Thank you.
Had lunch here and there was a great selection on the menu. I settled for the ploughman's which was very well presented, freshly prepared and exceptionally good value. The staff were pleasant, efficient and well mannered. Book a table now
Fantastic coffee, great atmosphere, awesome location overlooking the Abbey gate, and their ice cream is the best in town. Oh.. and their cakes are really rather good as well.. highly recommended.
