A trip to Salt Lake would not be complete without a stop at the Red Iguana or the 2nd restaurant that is less than a half mile away from the original location. Red Iguana 2 is a bit lesser known and it is bigger so your wait for delicious Mexican food is usually a little shorter. If you love a wide variety of Mole sauces this is the restaurant for you. I love the almond based mole. I usually get the "Puntas de Filete a la Nortena" which is a stir fry of peppers, onions, bacon and sirloin served on the almond mole. A Pacifico is a tasty brew to compliment the dish. The servers are very efficient and your tortilla chip basket and salsa bowl will be refilled.
Always enjoy going to the Red Iguana. Probably the best Mexican in the Salt Lake area. I ordered the Chili Colorado Burrito and my wife got the seafood fajitas. Incredible food and super friendly and informative staff. The portions are huge and would be a steal at half the size. Plus the margs are top notch.
