I was visiting from out of state and decided to stop by for dessert for dinner. We ordered slices of rocky road, mango, ube, and caramel cakes, along with butter and cheese mamon (I hope I got that right) and a packaged moist chocolate cake. Everything was incredible! I have memories of coming to Rotband after high school with my best friend. She'd always make mamons share with our group. now as an adult, I'll stop by if I can. The employees are always nice and I have been here if it is not packed what is nice when you are in a hurry. You have a selection of lemons from ube, mocha, butter, and cheesy. I really like this little shop. I've only had there sweet breads and tried some of there cakes. The cakes are not too sweet and always fresh. I get the little sweet breads in the bags like the mocha and the butter and ube. There really good for on the run and with a nice cup of coffee. I've never tried any of the food. I just usually run in to get some goodies for the office. Definitely recommend and they have some great Birthday cakes here.
I have tried their cakes a lot of times here and the Philippines. Finally, I am here personally buying them. It is my daughters birthday and she requested the Mango cake. So I can have some too, I purchased the sampler. The sales associate is patient, offered her help and gave some suggestions too. Small shop but their cakes are to die for. So I ordered 6 beef empanadas. It even says BEEF on the receipt but I guess they decided I needed chicken because all 6 are chicken. I do not enjoy these and that's $21.24 I just wasted. So yeah. Not too happy but the Ube cake is wonderful. Just wish they got the majority of the order correct.
The Palabok (noodles) was not good at all. The sauce wasn't right, and the hard-boiled egg they added to the dish was not even fully cooked; it was just a half serving. I cannot recommend this dish, especially considering its high price.
Almost all the dishes are of excellent quality, I'd give them 10 stars, but unfortunately, the Pan de Sal didn't meet the same standard. Make sure to check the expiration dates on any items you plan to purchase.
Loved the experience, love there pastries! You were delicious, I recommend marriage ube! Or the mocha roll and the ube coconut roll!
