"Great views of the bay & straddy! Food is good but you get what you pay for! The surf & turf for $15 is good value, portion size isn't big. The alcoholic drinks are a little over priced. It's a good place for a one off stop once in a while!"

I paid $30.0 for the 'special' - full rack of ribs. The portion was small, the meat overcooked/soggy and drenched in an awful smokey sauce - NEVER AGAIN! And don't order the prawns in garlic and cheese sauce - it's 4 medium prawns and sauce on top of a chicken schnitzel! To be fair, the staff did warn us of the latter dish and the schnitzel was OK, if overpriced. On the bright side, the band was excellent. The seating inside is generally scruffy canteen-style tables with one good bar-style wooden table - which we got because we arrive early. The beer is also good. We've had really good meals here in the past, but the standard seems to have slipped badly if today was any indicator. We won't b...

I ordered the special of rump steak and ribs medium to well done. Steak was served blue. Took it back and recooked. Worst steak I have eaten there, tough and gristly. Another of my group ordered garlic prawns that was on the menu and the girl who took the orders stated that it only came with a schnitzel?? When it arrived the prawns were in a creamy sauce not garlic. Not happy. Whilst there several other diners took their orders back. Not a good day for the restaurant. This used to be a top place to dine. Unfortunately even the beer on tap was not available as there was a problem with the system. Overall not a good experience.

We decided to have the Seafood Platter Thursday night special , a hot & cold seafood platter with a bottle of wine i.e. South Island Sauvignon Blanc . The wine was the best bit. Scallops cooked to a plastic dot stuck on a shell ditto for the oyster Kilpatrick, the cooked battered food tasted of old oil, the prawns were like tasteless pieces of seafood extender in a shell, the chips flaccid pale and greasy. The mussels weren't actually too bad . we actually have had the platter a few maybe 6 months ago and it was good.

Great place for a drink with family and visiting friends. Welcoming hotel with great views of the bay, a kids playground, and live music weekends. We only order snacks here now, we do not order meals here anymore, because we have had to many failed attempts. Foods, as lunch or dinner can take a long time to come when the pub is busy, and when it comes it is cold and below average. I ordered Moreton bay bugs once, and got Baliman bugs, the chef should check the bug's eyes.....food disappointing overall.
