Redwood Steakhouse

We came here on a Friday evening our reservation was for 8pm and we were seated promptly. We requested for a booth and were seated accordingly. House bread was fresh. We ordered the crab cake for our appetizer and it was good. I ordered the lamb chops for my entree it was tender and cooked as requested (medium rare). Had 4 pieces and it was not gamey. It came with a yam purée which was good. They also provided sauce and mint on the side. My boyfriend ordered the Surf Turf the filet mignon was tender and almost melts in your mouth. I had a fantastic experience at Redwood this weekend! I highly recommend this steakhouse for anyone looking to dine downtown without breaking the bank. The cozy, dimly-lit atmosphere gave off a great steakhouse vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the entire meal, making sure our water glasses were always filled. We had 5 pm reservations, we were seated immediately upon checking in. The restaurant itself has a really cozy vibe with comfortable seating. We've tried a couple of other times to come to this restaurant, but both times needed reservations because they were obviously booked. This time we made reservations, so we got the seating. We stayed at the California hotel for my mom's birthday, and my brother and I wanted to treat her for dinner. My mom mentioned Redwood since she has been here before and liked their steak. The setting is completely different from the other restaurants at the Cal or Main Street. It had more of an upscale feel to the restaurant. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and attentive.
