"Amazing for a refuge that claims the French Alpine Club (CAF) to refuse picnics, while taking a consumption. Not ethical in the high mountains!"

2 passages in this refuge, group of 7 hikers. Sleep at 7 at the top of the cottage with possibility of loading phones and gps. But you have to go down a stiff wooden staircase to access the toilet and dining room. This refuge is very conveniently located at the end of the road to the wild valley of the Haute-Ubaye, and the restaurant terrace offers a magnificent view of the Head of Miéjour, the Pointe de Mary, and the amazing sommital green rocks of the Bric de Rubren Mongioia (3340m), among others. The refuge is held by a friendly and very helpful couple who serves you at any time a perfect mountain restoration. Pasta is excellent, as well as homemade desserts. You will certainly not regret to make a welcome stop there after the hike. In fact, some people have chosen to spend their holidays there!

Out of season (12 Jan. , Siberian type time, no one around, snow desert, ice, cold and wind... And, surprise, open refuge. Only customers. A warm welcome at the corner of the fire, smiling, nice. We exchange on the country, its famous men, mountain life, summits, marble quarries, we philosophe in front of a great Italian hot chocolate and biscuits... I only tell you that. Run quickly to visit this super nice couple and cultivated in one of the most beautiful regions of France: the Haute Ubaye.
