Located in Wollishofen, take Tram #7 to Post and Renggergut is about a block away on a side street. I made an online reservation for lunch, which was pretty much confirmed immediately. I decided I would try their AYCE lunch buffet. Priced at 16CHF (24CHF with drinks which consists of choice of wine/prosecco, plus water and coffee/tea). Their spread offers soup, salad, noodles, cold salads, several appetizers, bread, while the main dishes consists of pork, noodles, fish, rice (stir fry, white), veggies and a carving station. I recently discovered Restaurant Renggergut in my neighbourhood as a spot for lunch - I don't think better value exists in Zurich. The style is buffet, but the atmosphere is refined enough for a casual work lunch. Lunch comes in three courses - the first course is always comprised of creative small plates, and options for soup, salad and bread - all very nicely done. The main course has both meat and (very tasty vegetarian options). But the desserts are truly amazing - lots of little ones to choose from. Expect friendly, reliable service from servers from the Stiftung Arbeitskette. And here's the kicker - all that for CHF 15!!
