Actual real Tex-Mex. The food is a little DC-ified (I made that word up) but it?s all very good. The atmosphere is incredible. The music is great. The drinks are strong. The people who work there are very friendly. They did a lot to help the communityduring the early days of Covid. I know that doesn?t matter when looking for food reviews, but it does tell you what kind ofpeople they are. My fiancé and I sometimes get their queso and tortillas to go and then cook fajitas at home. I honestly lovethis place and would chain myself to the doors to stop them if they ever announced they were closing. I would love it if theymade a habanero queso?just a modest suggestion.
I love a good neighborhood restaurant! I had the green chilaquiles with brisket and they were spot. The salsa was tangy and spicy. Perfect hangover cure.I loved that they just let us hang there for a while and really get to connect with friends.I didn’t knock them for this, but hate that everything is ordered through an app. My friend and I were there to catch up after a long hiatus and the last thing we wanted to do was figure out the app ordering system. I really want to see menu QR codes and app ordering become a thing of the past.
Moved to DC from Texas, so this place really fills a void in my life lol. The breakfast tacos are good-to-excellent depending on what you order. I really like their potato and egg, their egg and bacon, and their migas tacos. If you're into vegan tacos, I also really like their mushroom and tofu one. They have really great bacon, coffee, and yummy margheritas. Their tortillas are also great. For dinner, we always order their fajitas.
The food and drinks were fantastic! The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The only downside was that it was really hot, and the air conditioning didn’t quite reach the tables in the back. That's the only complaint, so I recommend visiting on a cooler day to enjoy the drinks on their beautiful deck! It's a wonderful spot for a date.

Okay, the tacos are little but for me, they were all I needed. The servers are personable and the drinks looked lovely. The horchata latte (or something espresso related) was fabulous.Love using the Toast app with them. Outside seating was so cute, but I sat at the bar. Totally worth visiting.
This restaurant is a fantastic find in the Truxton Circle/NoMa area! I love dropping by late at night during their Outlaw Hour for some great drink and food specials. The drinks are amazing, but just a heads up: the portion sizes for the deals are on the smaller side.
They have great breakfast tacos. You can tell they are great by their tortillas. They have a nice vibe and the service was nice. They have an order by QR code system which has its pros and cons. Would recommend this place for anyone who enjoys great tex mex
Super fun vibe, great service and good food! We got the steak, chicken and shrimp fajitas and they were delish (especially with the homemade tortillas)! Chips were excellent and very salty!

I would definitely revisit this restaurant. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Plus, you receive complimentary chips and dip when you sit down. The service was also very friendly.
Every time I am in DC, I have to stop by. The staff is amazing and the food is even better. I love exploring new tequilas that I've never had. I just love Republic Cantina.
