Even though this was French the reviewers mentioned the German food was great so why not. Sorry, but if this is the number two in the city something is seriously wrong with the food here. It was average. Gordon Ramsey would not approve. All the vegetables in my dinner were frozen and the mushroom's in the sauce, if not the the whole sauce, on the schnitzel came from a can. We shop in Emmerich often so we've had a chance to eat at almost all the Restraurants along the promonade. We really like this one! As the name indicates, there's a nod to French menu options, but we REALLY LOVE their German food! We've everything from Schnitzel, Haxe, Saurbraten to Quiche with salad and it tastes, well, German (which is what I want in a German restaurant!) The service is friendly & international with wait staff from Poland, Cameroon & Germany speaking English, Dutch and German (and more) which is an absolute delight. After visiting Emmerich for antiques markets a few times we have lunch or dinner here without any hesitation. The menu is a revelation for this place filled with otherwise German, Greek and Balkan restaurants. Very professional and friendly staff. Great wines and interesting dishes. One would almost forget to mention the great view over the Rhine river. If your looking for a few hours of pure holiday this is the place to rest your bones.
Hier op een leuke plek aan de Rijn de lunch gebruikt. De menukaart en ook de wijnkaart is Frans georiënteerd met Duitse porties. De kwaliteit is goed, de bediening wat traag. Van dit soort restaurants zijn er genoeg te vinden.

Auch nach Umzug weg von der Rheinpromenade in die sog. Societät: mal zufriedene Gäste, öfter mal Schilderung einer eher grenzwertigen Küchenleistung. Gruppen können nach Anmeldung Glück haben.

Boodschappen gedaan in Emmerich, even langs de Rijn wandelen met mijn maat en een hapje eten bij Franz. Goede Wienerschnitsel en Mixed grill. Een aanrader en om te onthouden.
