"Brilliant raclette, done on an open fire so the rim of the cheese is deliciously crusty over the boiled potatoes. Eat until you can squeeze in not another mouthful. Open and accessible only when there is no snow."

September We walked up to Les Prioux through the forest from Pralognan, uncertain whether we would get that far, and also not sure it would be open ... Our pleasure on finding the mountain restaurant not only operating but with only one table unoccupied...was huge. We dried off, warmed up and tucked into the special dish of the day tartiflette, a local dish made of sliced potatoes, onions and bacon, melted cheese and cream, all baked together. Add the cheerful vibe and a carafe of good red wine, and you will understand why this was a high point of our trip.

Les Priouz is a hamlet of drovers' huts, converted into rustic accommodation and this restaurant. It's exactly what you'd expect inside, rustic, traditional and candlelit. The wife was upset when we were sat next to the bar, in an empty restaurant, and she had to...endure bar-clanking noises from a metre away. However, the excellent, good value food calmed her down. The staff were fine. I'd come again.

Recommended by our hotel and it did not disappoint. Welcoming tradional building with a truly cosy feel. Superb end to a wonderful day walking in the national park. Food and service excellent we arrived early for evening meal welcomed in by owner even though the...family were eating their meal before evening service. We would absolutely recommend here for food post walk or even without the walk

We were staying in Pralognan but there was nothing open there on Sunday afternoon so our hotel sent us to la Bergerie in the village up the road. Pleasant rustic environs, food is typical local heavy cuisine. Pleasant evening but food was mediocre at the...best
