I often go to Le Lac restaurant in Malbuisson, the eponymous restaurant of the family run eponymous Hotel Le Lac. They have different Menus, very priceworthy, and an excellent wine selection. The point, as said in other review, is the inconsistency of service. Eventhough, I...always return, because of the cuisine. You really have to concentrate on food and wine. If sou 're lucky enough, you 'll get as much cheese as you want from the chariot de fromage , if it 's not your lucky day, the waiter will advise you that choice is limited. Same for the dessert. Also lost in their price strategy for their 50€ menu. Overall not impressed. Started with an avocado mousse followed by 1 Euro size noix de St-Jacques (very delicious but. Then a crushed ice with absinthe to rinse the palate. The main course was the smallest... all Kalbsmignons (the size of nothing I've ever seen so small, they were! Big cheese, but the young waiter should give us more than a few millimeters. Cheap. Followed by deserts (selection). Total experience: For the price of €50... avoid the other menu formats. Large wine: skin Medoc Le Sire for 39 €.

I was part of a big group that had stopped here, I went to coffee. The waitress was visibly frustrated at the number of people who at once, albeit only for coffee, so not a suitable place for unplanned groups really.... Although, when served, the coffee was okay, but one of our group thought it could be immediately what would have been disappointed.

The two of us had an excellent three-course menu and a bottle of Arbois wine for €95. Dessert and pastries seem to be the passion of the cook. The cakes and cakes on the breakfast buffet alone were the reason to come back.
