We were looking for a tasty, relaxed lunch French style so we walked along the promenade at Sete. A nice setting with an outlook onto the fishing boats. We decided on this restaurant as it seemed to be inviting with a reasonable menu. We went...for the main and a dessert for value. The King Prawns sounded attractive as did the Grilled Tuna. Unfortunately, they weren't. The main of King Prawns consisted of three smallish prawns and a few petite pomme de terres. That was it. Even for an entree it would have been small but this was a main. Frites in a little wire basket were...

I loved the fish soup, the oysters, the specialities from the area!!But above all, the kindness of this family who holds this typical restaurant for years. We went to Sete for the long weekend. On a sunny lunch we stopped on the canal to eat...some sea food. The restaurant is lovely, view on the canal with a big terrace. We met the mum behind the bar, the sons taking orders serving while discussing with us about everything in a very good English. It felt almost like home. It was such nice lunch that we decided to go back the day after for diner. And it was was even better the second time!

We should have used the TripAdvisor app. Don’t be wooed by the French main on the strip . Perhaps we are spoilt in Queensland when it comes to seafood. The freshest thing was the bread
