one of the great things about Aix-les-Babins, next to the lake, bergen and posh houses, is the fact that it is just a few minutes away from the autobahn. on the way home from the Provence it was a lunchtime when we came by, so we just drove. to the city, parked the car and went to the first decent restaurant. L’Ecuelle is located in a modern grotte and offers regional food, for example the tartiflette, something like an undercooked gratin with Reblochon cheese. it has been only for thirty years, but has already been promoted to a subscript court for the savoyen region. always looking for something from the contrary I could not resist, even if a court is hard to get with is not likely the wis...
I had believed one because of a burger, so when I saw that they had it on the menu, I decided to give it to a shot. I was ready to be disappointed with a small shaped patty and an oversized and dry bungalow. I was wrong, the burger was the best I had in months. years, even! it was juicy and tasteful and the toppings (bacon, cheese and swirling) made it a wonderfully delicious chaos. my man had the muddles and while he said that they were a bit on the little side, they lubricated well and it was a full bowl.
we ate here in aix. the terrace of the restaurant was fully booked, but they have many more tables outside on the square a little away, so we sat there. Eating was good and service was incredible as we were about 30 meters away from the kitchen. everything was hot and very tasty. we had hamburger, so I don't know about the rest of their menu.
we had dinner here with appetizer, hauptkur and dessert. eating was really great. my bark variety was a real experience. we have seen plates of other guests and they also looked amazing. large portions for these prices.
