We came as a party of four and all had a delicious meal. The dogs may not be for everyone and the outdoor tables are in ranch-like huts. That being said, the food was delicious and it was nice to be greeted by the chef. Our biggest criticism was that my friend ordered a rare steak and reinforced to the owner he wanted it to be 'French rare, not English rare'. She seemed to take offence to this and made him feel uncomfortable which was unnecessary. Without this it would have been a 5* experience.
We ate here on our last night in the Dordogne. The meal was superb, the service attentive and excellent. Contemporary French cooking that highlighted the great products of the region: duck, foie gras, and more, without being trite or repetitive or other meals we had had. In addition, they were very gracious about accommodating the food allergies of one of our group of four. There is onsite parking.
This place is a little off the beaten track but is worth the trip. We sat in the little shacks outside and enjoyed the quiet (aside from the dogs occasionally barking)! The service from the chef and, we assumed, the son, was very friendly. All the food we had was very well cooked but I think the desserts are really special so leave room for them! Good menu choice too and something for everyone.
Friendly, quality food cooked by talented French chef who cares, family run, great coffee, lots of parking, pretty outsde tables, they all speak English, varied menu not just you usual duck, happy to please, good value, friendly doggies, they go out of their way to please. Don't pass it by...you'll miss out on your best meal while in the area.

The very pleasant family that runs Les Combarelles made us feel utterly at home. The cassoulet was exceptional, a far cry from the leaden, fatty mess one often gets served. Terrific assiette de charcuterie was quite generous. Setting was charming. Even the dog was a pleasure. We'd be happy to return.
I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Each sauce is lick your plate good and all the food combinations were simply perfect. The couple who own the restaurant are very welcoming and make the space feel like you are dining at home.
Lovely little place, and an excellent steak! Very good service, helpful and polite service. They went out of their way to ensure that everyone was happy.......and they were.
