Whenever we go somewhere we reserve the last day to return to the best of spots we've enjoyed during our stay. This restaurant won the lunch spot (La Bastide de Marie won dinner) and we had yet another delightful meal there. The owner is a...woman who is charming and has an infectious laugh... she had three tables laughing and joking, like it was some sort of a show. She was very patient with our bad French and customized the salad based on what we were looking for. We had the rabbit for our main course and it was delightful but warning, it sold out both times we went so when you make your reservation (also a must), reserve the rabbit too if you want it. Had dinner here...it was good not great...service nice. From other reviews I got the impression that the garden terrace was the place with the view etc. but only spot open this night was streetside dining. I must say upon arrival I thought about leaving as...this seemed very different from TA reviews. But we stayed...food was good and sort of watched the cars heading into town for the big soccer game on TV in the bars. Good but not very interesting.
We returned there after our first visit there a couple of years ago and were not disappointed. The atmosphere is still the same : old arched building inside with a cosy feeling, lovely view of the castle while eating delicious food. When I close my...eyes, I can recall the delicious flavour of the lapin au miel! And it was so nice having a good friendly talk to the owner, sharing some local anecdotes.
we drove to Provence and it was almost like we had to stop at lunch. we drove through lourmarin and found a parking lot. when it rained, we dug directly over the street l’oustalet into the restaurant. we could not have been happy anymore. we had a wonderful and cheap lunch. would highly recommend whether they stay in lourmarin or simply go through.

Unlike a previous exam, there is a very good value for money! We had fun. be it a dish or a dessert, nothing to say. and cherry on the cake. a very nice waitress and listen.
we went to l’oustalet twice to eat. very good kitchen and good value for money. I had souris d’agneau and for dessert fondant au chocolat delicious.
Lamb soup with girolles and honey rabbit. Dessert of the day idem. Red Bastide of Verrerie 2014 highly recommended. A good address in LOURMARIN!
