From my experience of the past, I should have actually given 5 stars. I would like to explain why I am withdrawing from this, on the basis of a concrete example from a recent time. In August 2020, I was a guest in Opatija for the repeated time, as the local has been developing a corresponding name for many years due to its good quality. Unfortunately, this evening we had to find out that the hosting was only taken over by two waitresses, one of whom seemed unfamiliar and unmotivated, the head of the house, who is always accommodating and approaching his guests, was unfortunately not present this evening. Not recommended! I've never seen that before! Of the speech customers is king have never heard these restaurant staff. Customer requests like without sauce are rejected, Sauce Hollondaise was felt everywhere. We had both immortal and unannounced screams. But the coronation was the extremely respectless operation. Both ladies spoke loudly with us about their unrecognized misconduct, so that all guests came along. The mood at our family party was kinked accordingly. I've never seen anything like that. Of 15 people, the food tasted only 2 children who had a carving. Probably ready or frozen. Never again!
Waren schon oft im Opatija und was soll ich sagen es gibt in Herten kein anderes Lokal wo ich noch so viel Sehr Gutes Essen für meinen teuren EURO bekomme. Also wer Hunger hat sofort anrufen und hoffen das man noch ein Platz bekommt. Im Moment ist ja der Biergarten offen und dann könnte es mit dem Platz bestimmt auch hinhauen. Am Biergarten würde ich noch einige Verschönerungen machen dann wäre alles Perfekt. Also viel Spass und immer die Teller schön leer Essen.mfgHJD

At Opatj you can eat well and cheap. There are also half ice plates. And what you can't eat is taken. Friendly staff. No too long waiting time I can only recommend, but pre-order while it is almost always full.

The best carving in town. The boss is very nice and welcome you. The beer garden is also worth a visit in summer. Especially recommended after the bike tour.
