Restaurant U Castellu

On the main road from Ajaccio to Bastia, which is a very attractive drive, we were amazed to come across a small hotel and restaurant that is open all year round both lunch time and evening. (They even have evening soirees sometimes). What a find...it was right on lunch time. Welcoming, attractive outside (and inside) sitting on the main road amongst the woods and mountains. The fire was lit which made it quite cosy and the staff were smiling and welcoming. We had a very enjoyable meal there. My husband had sauté de veau with olive sauce and tagliatelle and I had cannelloni stuffed with ricotta, we finished with a very nice tarte fine and mousse chocolat. what a Jewel. we were so grateful that we saw the sign. the left curve (from one direction) is sudden, but quite safe. the location is incredibly beautiful, and the cool of the terrace was so different for the front of the hotel. we're coming. a day back and stay really nice.

after a few hours walk we went to lunch in this restaurant. we took some corsic specialties (salami, cheese) and a glass of wine. everything was very tasty, the waiter was very friendly, environment super, prices decent. a perfect end of a day.

waitress beautiful, eat excellent, and the coolness so welcome in the heat of the day. make sure they call it good. the rest is tangible.

see my hotel review. large plate of local meat and cheese. main are basic but hearty loose from boar or lamb
