The atmosphere was charming, and the cashier was friendly. However, they have an additional fee that contributes to the wages of the kitchen staff. While I support this idea in principle, I was surprised to see it included only on my emailed receipt, along with tax, which made my smoothie cost over $15 after tip. Even the listed price of $12 feels excessive. I was in a hurry, but it definitely wasn’t worth it. The "cholesterol fighter" smoothie tasted old, as if the ingredients had been sitting around for ages, and the texture was gritty. They seemed to use an opaque cup to hide the unappealing muddy brown color. I tried it despite my reservations about the price, but I won’t be returning.
Cafe Rifrullo has promise, but unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The dishes were lacking in flavor, and the Cabot could really use some bolder seasoning. I would recommend using brioche for the French toast instead. Although the atmosphere was enjoyable and the coffee was good, the prices felt steep considering the overall disappointing meal.
Really great food. Counter service but poorly organized/arranged. Sunday brunch was a little busy and crowded (but got a seat quickly) and a little loud, with poor acoustics.
Place is cute and small. Employees are nice. But $15 for this sandwich is INSANE. I can get a bigger healthier breakfast option at Paris Creperie.
