Wonderful place! A classic pub with staff who genuinely go above and beyond to assist you. The food was fantastic, and I was pleasantly surprised by a game of darts on a professional board. excellent eating, fantastic and friendly customer service, great selection of local ales, very cheap prices. a real fire on cool days, if necessary and a good sitting area in the open at these beautiful sunny days. a traditional classical pub with a wonderful history and full character.
This cozy pub is conveniently located near the bridge leading out of Kendal. The outdoor seating area is a delightful suntrap on sunny days and evenings. We particularly enjoyed the guest ales, especially the Gan Yam Pal, which we finished off completely!

Fantastic traditional old word pub. Good range of beers and sensibly priced food menu. Two small lounge areas so be prepared to squash in when busy.
