We took a chance and went without a booking to see if we could dine there. Luckily we were early and were able to get a table. The staff were very friendly, including the barman and the whole place had a 'feel good' atmosphere. Food was delicious and highly recommended. Loved that they serve all the local wines so you can try some before you decide to go to the vineyards. This old hotel is just gorgeous and well worth a visit.

A bit noisy on our stay due to it being the day of the Balaklava Race meeting nearby - fully booked! The rooms are also basic, clean, old style - 2 old rooms made into one to provide an en-suite shower etc. Don't expect a 5* marble bathroom!!The real attraction is the food. Good menu for a country pub, and the serves are HUGE!

The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We were a family with a 2 year old and 7 year old. Our 7 year old was given activity packs each night which let him busy. We were sitting right by the fire place which was great on a winters night. Food was tasty, especially the soup. We'll visit again

Lovely hotel with history. Staff were extremely helpful. We didn't tell them we needed to leave early and no one was on premises until about 8am. The dinner we had was delicious but I think a little pricey. It's on the main road but that wasn't a problem. Wish we could've stayed longer Book a table now

Dined on balcony out the front today. Whilst cool, if you dress for the weather it's a great spot to chill and watch the passing working/travelling parade. This is not a cheap place to eat, but it is so worth the experience.

It was a cold wintery night so we would have preferred to sit in the bar but were given a table in the hallway opposite a radiator. Duck spring rolls were a highlight, salad a bit over dressed, bangers

My husband and I stopped here after a long day of driving. We enjoyed the fresh ingredients, friendly staff and wonderful wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here.
