Ristorante Isola Verde

Although billing itself as a pizzeria, Isola Verde also offers traditional Italian dishes. We were the only ones not eating pizzas, however, in a restaurant crowded with what appeared to be families from the area (always a good sign! . The restaurant, on a busy street, has an unassuming exterior, so it’s easy to miss, but we found an attractive and cozy interior during our first visit. We started with soup, including my very tasty fish soup consisting of mussels, clams, and fish in a clear broth. For our main courses, my wife had a grilled salmon with buttered spinach while I had saltimbocca ala Romana (literally, “jumps in the mouth” , a dish as traditionally Italian as osso buco. We went to have dinner here, with no expectations, because we were hungry and wanted to have pasta. We walked into this really cosy restaurant and decided to sit in their outdoor terrace garden in the back. I had the Mansi e Aglio pasta (beef, mushroom and garlic pasta) and my boyfriend had the Grilled Calamari with Rucula (rocket) salad. The Pasta was very delicious, and grilled calamari was perfectly cooked. We were very happy with the excellent food. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable. The Italian wines were good too. We liked the restaurant so much we returned again in the same week. This will be one of our favorite Italian restaurants from now on.

Good quality, nice service, nice garden. Not touristic, mainly local people. Been here three times over the last year, and will come again.

On a weekly basis we order their minestrones, pizzas, risottos and pastas, never been disappointed, its fast, fresh and delicious

Nice local italian restaurant in the 19th district. Had very nice wine (portofino red) and lasagna and gnocchi. Recommended!
