Located in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, right across from the Festspielhaus, the restaurant had changed management over the years. Never great shakes. But this time, it's different! This time, the Italian incarnation is a keeper. Cheerful, welcoming service, good food, unpretentious. We especially liked the...nice lamb shank, wellseasoned with juniper berries, and other lamb dishes, various fish specialties. Ask for their specials of the day. The salads were nicely put together, and you can put your own balsamico and olive oil in it, not oversauced. Stay for an espresso, and even the goodold tiramisu will make you smile
with a printed voucher from the voucher book my wife and I stayed in paganini for lunch. the order pasta and pizza as well as a salad plate could be quickly abandoned, however it took a very long time afterwards. the salate was served after some time of waiting, after which it took a very long time again until the ordered food came. service had not much to do, waited and left us unrestrained.The food that was finally brought without special interest did not taste bad, but also not superb. the salat plate was rather poor. Overall, we were disappointed by the uninterested operation.
We only ate here because it was a public holiday and nothing else but an Indian restaurant was open. I had Tortellini forma with bacon and mushroms topped with a ton of gluey Mozzarella which was served in a soupy bkand tomatocream sauce. Once I...discarded the stringy glue I was left with something that should have been eaten with a spoon if the pasta had any consisteny or taste and wasn't store bought.My husband's ravioli were only marginally better. we enjoyed a good North Italian dinner at two. dominick (owner) offered us a great service and adapted our selection to our taste. he shared our walks into two and we enjoyed them all greens vinegretdritte. pasta bolognese baked with parma ReggiannoForth...pig fillet with champignons and onions. A hearty red wine (the house lover) provided an unforgettable evening in baths.
we work near the paganini, we have eaten there a few nights to night, very good pizza like in italia, an evening instead fabulous tagliatelle al grana. quick and friendly service, well, will definitely come back. excellent quality

The pizza was on; the ravioli was in the same quality I would expect in supermarket with extremely basic. The wine for glass was basic wine which is ok but was overcharged
